Prison Break Market, 15th June 2024 – Raising Giants celebrated a remarkable return of their annual Amazing Race fundraising event, attracting an enthusiastic crowd and generating significant support for their mission. The event was held at the Prison Break Market, with 60 eager participants embarking on a thrilling journey filled with mystery, excitement, and mind-bending challenges.
The main race saw participants immerse themselves in an epic adventure, navigating through various obstacles and puzzles. After an intense competition, The Rapudus emerged as the overall winners, with The Chin Eagles finishing a close second, only four minutes behind. The Orange Tigers secured third place, completing the top three.
Kgomotso Khosa, the founder and chairperson of Raising Giants, took the opportunity to share the organization’s mission: to nurture the next generation of African leaders across various domains, including careers, entrepreneurship, sports, and arts & culture. Kgomotso also highlighted the organization's current fundraising goal of R4,000,000. The funds are intended to support quarterly camps that provide mentorship, skill development, and leadership cultivation for youth in villages across the country.
In addition to the race, Raising Giants celebrated their 16th anniversary, reflecting on the numerous lives they have touched over the years. The event was a heartfelt reminder of the organization's impactful journey and its unwavering commitment to empowering African youth.
